About Us

  • Our program is a dually accredited training site that prepares residents for cetification by both the American Board of Emergency Medicine the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine. Residents participate in a rigorous curriculum shared between Sparrow Hospital and McLaren Greater Lansing. 
  • Sparrow’s  Emergency Department is a Level I trauma center that sees approximately 100,000 visits a year with a 25,000 visit per year dedicated Pediatric Emergency Department.  McLaren’s Emergency Department has a volume of approximately 50,000 patients annually and offers exposure to pathology as typically seen in a community hospital environment.
  • Our residency program is affiliated with Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and College of Human Medicine offers a unique opportunity for our residents to participate in medical student education, simulation medicine, and hands-on procedural laboratories.
